Ube with Flowers

Here's another nail art post for you.  Though not really art, because I just stuck some nail decals on each of my fingernails, except my thumbs.  Yesterday, I didn't go to work so I stayed at home all day.  I was bored, so I looked at my lavender nails and decided to tweak them a little.

After applying 2 more coats of the lavender nail polish, here's how it turned out:

Yep, flowers.  Tiny white and pink flowers with blue outline.   I got these on a sale in a nail art shop at Market! Market! mall.  I actually got two more (in other designs, of course) because they were on a 3 for 100PHP deal. These are like rubberized decals, and I had a hard time making them stick to each nail.  I had to press down a few times.  Although, they soften up a bit once you put a clear polish over them, so it was easier to control.  I didn't bother to put on my thumb anymore, because I kinda think it's too much already.

I know it ended up a bit messy, though.  But I think I did good for a beginner. Heehee.  For me, it looks too girly, but I'm getting used to them.  Although, I won't recommend wearing these in a strict corporate office.

Don't you think it's too girly?

LOD: NYX Round Lipstick in Chaos

What's happening?? News on TV says that our Chief Justice post is now officially vacant.  I have my rather serious thoughts and opinions about what transpired yesterday, but I think I'd rather keep them to myself.  Or maybe post about it in my other blog.  Since this is a beauty blog, there is certainly no place here for politics and the like. Haha!

So here's a review of a lipstick that I've been wearing for the week.  I love how the red shade with bluish undertones stands out against my skin.  It initially looked scary on the tube, but upon trying it out a few times, I got used to the shade.  I'm so loving it right now, especially on my laziest days.

Ube Ice Cream

That is what comes to mind when I take a look at my nails.  Wearing this nail polish from The Face Shop in PP401, it's a refreshing shade of pastel purple.  I actually wore and featured this polish already here, but it was through a nail art I did with yellow/gold stars.

This time, it's just plain and simple lavender nail color.  I love that it makes my hand look dainty and sweet.

And you know what? It's the same shade name as the highlighter/blush I featured here before, also from The Face Shop.  Nice, noh?

Well, that's about it for a Monday.  I originally wanted to post a makeup look of me wearing rep lips, but the lighting isn't too nice so I have no decent shots.  Maybe tomorrow or soon.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Haha!  I'm sporting an updo here, and I took the shot to kill the boredom from the morning traffic earlier today.  I'm also trying out this new eyebrow makeup tool from Makeup For Ever.  It says waterproof and it should last all day.  Will tell you all about how it works for me soon.  Hope ya like it.

LOD: Essence Lipstick in Sparkling Angel

Hey, girlies!

OK, I'm guilty.  Sorry for not being able to update as often as I could, but things just got busy lately. I've been busy with the corporate world --- and with my new fitness plan.  For the fitness plan, I've been trying to jog at least 30 minutes for three times a week and incorporating some diet schemes.  So far, I've been diligent for a whole month.  I see improvements, but I'll dwell on that more on a separate post.

Anyhow, here's another Lipstick of the Day post to makeup for my long blogging time. Heehee!

This was part of the lippie haul I got from my trip to Malaysia.  The brand Essence isn't available locally - but I really wish it was.  This is a UK drugstore beauty brand that is available also in the US and some Asian countries, including Malaysia.   I actually bought this in their local Watson's.  For the price of roughly $2-3 dollars, you get a decent lipstick, which are available in many luscious shades.

For this lipstick, I chose Sparkling Angel because I was currently looking for a nude lipstick at that time.  There were no testers available, so I had to rely on the color I see on the tube.  It's a warm, almost copper-toned lipstick on the tube.

My Shu Uemura One-Day Makeup Class Experience

I’ve been itching to attend a makeup class since I got hooked on makeup.  And so, lucky me, I saw this deal on Deal Grocer for a 1-day makeup class with Shu Uemura.  Knowing how prestigious the brand is, and since I have yet to own a Shu product, I grabbed the opportunity right away because it came with discount vouchers for their products!  Needless to say, the photos below will reveal how much I enjoyed the experience.

Our work tables - those pink pouches contained some basic makeup brushes that we can use for practice.

Our instructor was Shu Uemura’s very own internationally-accredited makeup artist Ms. Sharon Soledad.  Part of the lecture  was to introduce the brand and some of their best-sellers.  She was great in her talk and was very helpful in answering everyone’s questions about makeup.  Our class is a mixture of both makeup enthusiasts and newbies.  I encountered women who knew nothing about makeup, and Ms. Sharon was very patient in listening to them.  She was also very hands-on, helping us pick out the right shade of foundation or eyeshadow.  Of course, I learned new tricks and tips, in addition to what I already know.  I was lucky that my seatmates were all makeup enthusiasts as well, I had fun looking at their makeup kits and vice-versa.

On Using a Lip Brush and a Review: Charm's Lip Brush

Ola!

While my boss is away, here I am updating my blog.  I haven't done any new posts since last week, so here's a new one for ya.  I'm gonna tell you all about this nifty little brush that makes my lip colors last longer and look more glam.

FACTS:

Place bought:  Pur Beauty Store, Serendra, Bonifacio Global City
Price:  If I remember correctly, it's roughly around 200-300 PHP, but definitely not over 400 PHP.
Packaging:  What drew me into buying this lip brush is that it comes with a cover, which makes it easy to tote in my vanity kit.  This is part of a set, but the brushes can be bought individually.  For size reference, I placed it with my MAC Blot to give you an idea.
Shade:  Only one shade for this brush - dark brown bristles, light pink and black handle, and black ferrule.

LOD: NYX Lipliner Pencil in Deep Red

What up yo?

Sorry for not updating lately, been quite busy for a bit.  I've gone on another beach trip, and maybe on this coming weekend, too.  Well, aside from being a self-proclaimed beach addict, I'm just making the most of the summer.

In the meantime, here's my lipstick of the day post - NYX Lipliner Pencil in Deep Red.

Given the harsh summer heat we've been having lately, it's too lazy to apply my usual makeup routine.  I just dab some BB cream with SPF before driving to work, and just do my minimal makeup in the car at our parking lot.  To make myself not look too pasty or pale, I rely on bright or opaque colored lipsticks or lip products.  And for today, I just grabbed this lipliner from NYX.

I bought this on sale at the Pur Beauty store in Serendra for less than 200 PHP, as far as I can remember.  It's a "buy one, take one" sale, so I also got another shade.  But let's focus on this one first.
