Review: Benefit’s Dandelion

Finally, a full blown product review!  I’ve been waiting for a day or night when I can finally do this.  December is such a busy month! Both socially and work-wise.

How did you spend your Christmas?  For me, I just went to Subic with my sibs to visit Papa.  We just went out to eat and drink, and then had lunch before we went to back to Manila.  I had to work on the 26th right away, so we traveled back on Christmas afternoon.  Since it was also my birthday, I just bought myself a cake.  And that’s it! It was a nice break, but too bad I have work right away.  Hopefully, for the New Year celebrations, I will get my much needed break.  I just literally want to sleep in!  I also want to go shopping, for myself actually.  I've been spending on gifts, but I really want a treat for myself for my birthday.

I missed blogging so much.  I already have loads of new products to review and I can’t wait to have you see them.  But for today, let’s start with this new blush/highlighter duo that I’ve been currently using to achieve a brightened nude makeup look.

Let me show you some facts about the product first –

FACTS:

Place bought:  I got this online from GirlTalk’s Beauty Bazaar.

Price:  Php800.00 (Yup, I got it for a bargain!)  Regular price is around Php1500.00 at Benefit stores.

Packaging:  Like all of Benefit’s Box o’ Powders, it’s also in a box, with a mirror and a blush.  But I’m aware that this isn’t the original packaging, because I know that the old one is in a bigger box.  Nevertheless, the product is always more important than the packaging, right?

Shade:  Dandelion – according to Benefit, it’s a mauve and pinkish blush that gives off a brightening finish.  It has tiny glitters that you can only see if you really take a good look at it.

Makeup Looks Loading...

Hello!

I literally have no time to blog anymore, but I wanted to do a quick post. So here's a quick rundown of my current makeup looks over the past few weeks -

Products used:
Make Up For Ever Waterproof Eyebrow Gel;
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation with Ben Nye loose powder,
Shu Uemura UV underbase mousse, Fashion 21 concealer stick in milk tea,
MAC Peony Petal blush,
Benefit Dandelion,
MAC Chatterbox,
Contouring Kit

This was the look I made when I attended a wedding.  I had groomed my brows so much, I really like how I did it! It also showed up really well in the photos, so it was fab.

Products used:
Nichido eyepencil for brows,
NYX Runway Palette for the eyes,
Shawill Mascara,
MAC Peony Petal blush,
Essence Lipstick (the one in gold glitter)
Fashion 21 Concealer Stick in Milk Tea

For this look, I was dressed up as a fairy for our office's children's Christmas Party.  It was fun dressing up, little girls even posed for photos with me.  I just went simple on my eye makeup and lipstick.  Although I had plans to be a sexy fairy, I also thought that it would be inappropriate as I might scare some of the kids. Haha!

Products Used:
Nichido eye pencil for brows,
Fashion 21 concealer stick,
The Faceshop Aqua BB Cream,  Ben Nye loose powder,
Fanny Serrano bronzer for contouring,
MAC Dame blush,
MAC Scarlet Ibis lipstick,
MAC Tartan Tale eyeshadow palette

Finally, here's my birthday/Christmas makeup look.  Just something simple, but with striking red lips a la Marilyn Monroe.

Hope ya like!

Merry Christmas!!

'Tis the Season for Sales

Yo!

The Christmas season finally hit me, and for the past two weeks, I can't seem to find time to do my blogging.  Lots of parties, dinners, and get-togethers to attend.  Plus, the traditional and annual onslaught of bazaars and sales.  Honestly, all my December weekends are already booked and brimming with activities.

Wanna know what's happening around the metro?  Here's my list of bazaars and sales to give time to this holidays.

I've personally been to the Noel Bazaar this year.  And that's where I bought most of my Christmas gifts to giveaway.  They have everything - and with great deals at that.  The food trip is also something to watch out for.  Noel Bazaar is sponsored by GMA Network, by the way.  However, there's also another one from ABS-CBN, the 12th World Bazaar.  I don't have a photo for that, but here are the details:  Venue at World Trade Center, Open everyday, up until December 23.  You can also checkout this link.

There's also a midnight sale happening on the weekends at Tiendesitas, Ortigas, Pasig.

Wait, how about makeup sales?

Here's one from Maybelline -

Sale runs until December 30, at all Maybelline counters nation-wide.

I think there's also a sale from The Body Shop which I just saw this weekend at the mall.  The Lip & Cheek Tint is on sale for about 400PHP. Not bad, if you're a fan.

Got any more sales you know?  Share them and let's do some shopping!

Review: MAC Chatterbox

Hey, it's the long weekend! What are you up to?

I'm going somewhere tonight with friends, so I'm kinda doing this quick because I gotta hit the shower soon. This is a review of one of my favorite MAC lipstick - the Chatterbox.  Have you tired this one yet?

First, the basics -

FACTS:

Place Bought: Part of my birthday gifts last year

Price:  Regular price at MAC stores PhP900.00-1000.00

Packaging:  same old black bullet tube

Shade: Chatterbox – a warm coral pink.

Based on the photos, you will see how this is my most used and most abused MAC lipstick.  The truth is that it’s one of my favorite everyday lipstick.  I wear it at work, at the malls, at the grocery, or just around the house if I wanted too.  The color is so tame, despite being pink.  It’s like a great MLBB, but in pink undertones.  If I wanted louder color, I can always layer it on to achieve the exact color of the tube.

Being an Amplified Crème, it surely is creamy and soft in texture.  One swipe is so pigmented.  However, despite being so creamy, it doesn’t slide off my lips easily.  In fact, it clings to it until my next meal.  There’s also no need for a balm, as the creamy texture gives enough moisture already.

The color/shade is so versatile, such that I can pull it off even if I’m wearing heavy eye makeup, or none at all.  Lately, I’ve been into “no makeup” makeup looks.  And this lipstick from MAC definitely helps me achieve soft pink lips without going too loud.

So yeah, I can see myself finishing this one up. And if I did, I will definitely get myself a new tube.
