Review: Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion with SPF50

Summer is definitely here. I can feel it in the air! And in our case where our summers can also be humid and sticky, I can surely feel it on my skin, too.

With my constant need to always be sun-protected, I'm always on the lookout for new sunblocks - not just for the body, but also for the face.  Sometimes, I'd also rather have sun protection infused with my makeup, too. That's how crazy I am about SPF. Sunblock is like my ultimate summer gear.

Today, I'm giving you my first dibs on this sheer sunblock from Neutrogena.  Neutrogena, being a popular skincare brand, usually comes out with new inventions when it comes to sun protection. Their latest, Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion with SPF 50, just like this one.

But first, some usual facts:

Place bought: Watson's
Price: Php600++
Packaging: in a sleek white bottle that's small enough to fit in my hands (comes with a box, too)
Shade: n/a  (it's a sunblock, so it naturally comes in one shade which is white)

Review: The Face Shop's Bye Bye Dark Circle Concealer

Oh, hello there!

I have something new for you today.  Yep, a full makeup product review, finally! I've been waiting for the free time when I can actually do this, and now, I'm back!

For today, it's all about this nifty undereye concealer I found from one of my favorite makeup stores - The Face Shop.  It's a pen-like concealer, complete with a clicking mechanism to produce just the right amount of product.

It's also packed with sun protection at SPF30, which is always a great thing especially in our kind of tropical weather.  Here are some quick specs:

Place bought:  The Face Shop, Bonifacio Global City
Price: Php395
Packaging:  Pen-like type concealer, with a clicking mechanism
Shade: It's available in only one shade, which I can describe as warm beige with a yellow tone.

I think the shade works really well for me.  Not too light and not too dark.  Being an undereye concealer, you can always set it off with a powder that matches your skin tone. The clicking mechanism is also great in controlling the amount of product to use.  For each undereye, you just really need a small pea-size amount.

Three of My Favorite Beauty Things for Summer

It's the second week of March already and you can definitely feel the heat. For someone who loves makeup like me, a huge change in weather also means some major change when it comes to beauty products.

And speaking of beauty products, here's sharing a few of my favorite beauty items whenever summer comes around.

1. A pretty shade of pink nail polish. I don't know why but every time the temperature rises, I feel the need to wear any bright pink or Barbie pink nails - both on my hands and feet. It's just so apt and pretty!

2. Something coral or orange on my cheeks. When its summer, I usually go a shade darker due to more sun exposure. Hence, corals are my pick to highlight and complement my tan. This one is from a local brand called Pinkies collection. They have a collection of bright and pigmented blushes and this shade is the brightest orange they got so far.

3. Lastly but definitely not the least - in fact, it's the most important beauty product for summer - a sunblock with an SPF of 35 or higher. Sun protection is needed for the face, body and even hair! This one from Neutrogena is a new discovery and favorite - its clear in shade, non-greasy, light and with no heavy sunblock scent. It works as a good primer before putting on makeup as well. For me, I just put loose powder a few minutes after application and I'm good to go. No need for anything heavy to wear in our tropical summer weather.

And that's all there is to it. Just three items to jumpstart my summer and I'll be ready for the next getaway.

Happy weekend, everybody!

Shiseido International Beauty Fair

I'm so back to blogging.  I know, I've been MIA and been missing out a lot from the beauty blogging world.. but today marks the first day of 2014 for my first post.

And for my first post, here's an invite for the Shiseido International Beauty Fair to be held at the SM Megamall Atrium on March 21-23, 2014.

Here are other details of the event:

Shiseido Philippines will be showcasing an International Beauty Fair featuring MomokoIshibashi of Shiseido Japan. This Japanese beauty consultant, who flew in from Tokyo, will be conducting a three-day beauty workshop along with Shiseido Philippines Chief Makeup Artist, Carmel Villongco. The coveted Shiseido Certificate will be given to attendees upon completion of the three-day seminar. Interested participants may RSVP via the Shiseido Philippines Facebook page to avail of special loot bags at the end of the workshop.

This three-day beauty fair will also offer a holistic beauty enhancement program with free skincare consultation, makeover counter, makeup demo area, beauty shot photo booth, Shiseido CafĂ©, nail art services and a glitter tattoo station. Plus, exclusive gifts and treats will be given to customers who will purchase at the weekend fair. Following the beauty fair is the much awaited opening of Shiseido’s Philippine flagship store at the Mega Fashion Hall this April 2014.

To know more about this event, you may find their Facebook Page dubbed as "Shiseido Philippines".  They are also in Instagram: "@ShiseidoPH" and Twitter: "@ShiseidoPH" .

Shiseido closed its store in Rustan's Glorietta way back 2012 if I'm not mistaken.  And then, they opened a new branch in Greenbelt.  This year, the Philippine flagship store will be in SM Megamall.  Personally, this makes me very happy.  It's the nearest mall to where I currently live now, and I'm glad that it's becoming more and more of a makeup hub because all in-demand brands are already popping up.

Shiseido is a Japanese makeup brand so it boasts of very good, albeit high-end quality.  It's the mother company of Majolica Majorca, which as you know, is one of the brands I usually review here. I especially love Shiseido concealers, although I don't own one yet. I just borrow those from my Tita and they really truly work.

If you haven't heard about the brand or would like to get to know about it more, this is the best time to do so.

Hope to see you there!
